Angel Dominguez, Animal Health Manager at Coulee Cattle Feeders, is the 2007 recipient of the
Bob Rebholtz In Excellence Award .

The announcement was made by Robert Rebholtz at the Moses Lake feedyards annual Christmas party to a very surprised Angel Dominguez. Angel happened to be helping Robert translate some of Robert’s remarks, into Spanish; here are some of the things that were said about Angel in the nomination forms:

“Angel is honest with himself and others – he accepts responsibility and is accountable whether it’s good or bad. He always has a smile on his face regardless of the circumstances, treats everyone with respect and is the ultimate team player. He will help anyone with anything. Angel is always thinking of ways to improve our procedures and attain better results. He has produced outstanding animal health numbers since assuming the position in 2002.”

“First and foremost a very good leader, he listens, motivates and teaches people. He will help anybody that needs help and he is an inspiration to everybody in his group. He always does what is required and takes the extra steps. He speaks with honesty, is very responsible and . . . he only makes business deals that are good for the employees and the company. He incorporates technology into daily work and has a great imagination for working out problems. He’s always learning and growing mentally. He always asks questions to make sure a problem is solved correctly.”

“He is responsible and always makes sure we find the sick cattle, treating them correctly and then makes sure all the work is done . . . when he says we have something else to do we all go and help because . . . he has a good sense of humor and always makes us laugh and everybody gets things done. He’s always looking for better ways to do things, and he listens to our opinions and we all agree and we get the work done. He is the type of person who likes to show you how to do things correctly; he will show you everything he knows – he wants you to do the job correctly. I’m very happy to be one of his coworkers.”

Angel’s wife, Irene, and many of their close, and extended family, were also there to share in the announcement and congratulations. In addition to the bronze statue, designed specifically for this award, he also received a trip to Miami for his wife and him.

The Bob Rebholtz In Excellence Award was started in 1998 to annually honor an employee, nominated by those with whom he or she works, who has best exemplified the values of integrity, leadership and innovation.
