Community InvolvementAgri Beef Co. is committed to being an economic, intellectual and social asset to each community in which we operate. Agri Beef Co. believes that the quality of life is not something we leave to chance. It’s a standard we passionately promote with each product and service, each step of the way.One of the ways we strive to live up to this responsibility is by extending support to a variety of organizations and programs that help to enrich our quality of life. Guidelines for Charitable ContributionsAgri Beef Co. recognizes its obligation to invest in the communities we serve. We also understand that sometimes human needs are better met through the support of private industry versus the reliance of government alone. With this view, Agri Beef Co. commits a portion of its pre-tax earnings, each year for charitable contributions, strongly supporting agriculture endeavors relating to our Company.The Agri Beef Co. Product Contribution Committee meets regularly considering all requests from qualifying organizations. Each request will be evaluated with the regard to the Company’s contribution objectives and budget. All requests must be submitted at least 6 weeks in advance. All organizations completing the application and requesting a contribution from the company will receive a reply in a timely manner. Categories of SupportAgricultural EducationTo assure the availability of trained men and women from which to draw employees; to encourage continuing research and development in academic specialties relevant to the business of the corporation; to promote educational excellence. This category includes assistance to public and private higher education institutions; and other education related organizations especially those which seek to increase public knowledge of agriculture and other subjects of special importance to the Corporation. Health and Human Services To assure the availability of adequate health care and human services in the communities we serve and to promote the development of new, workable responses to health and human services needs. This category includes:
· Agencies for senior citizens and the elderly · Youth agencies · Local health and human service organizations Child Services Support for those organizations and/or programs addressing civic and community needs demonstrates our commitment to increasing citizen awareness and participation in child welfare services. Special emphasis is placed on organizations that support education, child health and welfare, and disadvantaged youth. This commitment extends to supporting organizations, which provide services for adequate housing and neighborhood improvements, troubled teen support organizations, child and teen activity organizations, and education enhancement organizations. Other This category includes support for organizations or programs not previously addressed but which meet the Company’s contribution objectives. Requests and ReviewsRequests should be made in writing addressed to Contribution Committee, Agri Beef Co., 1555 Shoreline Dr., Third Floor, Boise, Idaho 83702. To make a request, fill out the attached Contributions Request Form and send it with other information regarding the organization. Please keep in mind the following:1. Community need must be present and identifiable. 2. Requesting groups must be tax-exempt. 3. Special attention is given to groups with:
· Strong volunteer support. · Programs which serve specific needs of people and improve their lives. · Programs with long-term effects. · Programs in which Agri Beef Co. employees participate. · Programs that encourage wide community support. 4. Agri Beef Co. makes every effort to direct its contributions where they have the greatest impact while addressing the most critical needs. We receive far more requests than there is money available and acknowledge that we are unable to fund every worthy endeavor. As a general rule, Agri Beef Co. will not make contributions to:
· Funding for individuals not related to Agri Business. · School programs or projects that benefits one individual versus a group of students. · Unrestricted operating funds. Timing RequirementsAgri Beef Co.’s fiscal year runs from January 1st to December 31st but proposals may be submitted at any time during the year. The contributions committee meets regularly and proposals for contributions will be approved or denied upon review.
